Description

Until the Sea Shall Free Me, is a photobook that celebrates life by the water's edge. The images were made over a period of 5 years. In these 5 years I travelled to various locations around Europe: Madeira, Livorno, Palermo, Marseille, San Sebastian, and Lisbon. I wanted to reflect the tranquility and contentment that is to be found by the sea. I see the beach, the sea as liberation. The seascape is vast and open, with an ever-expanding horizon. It seems there are infinite possibilities here. I wanted to capture people at their most relaxed, their most unguarded, possibly at their happiest.
