Description

Since the year of 2011, I have been documenting my life into a personal “ A Diary ” project, Month by month, with different analogue cameras. In this ongoing project, I’m learning to explore my surroundings, the way people connect and
are embedded in their surroundings, and the symbiosis between the two. At the end of every month, I develop the film and upload the results onto my website,
where they act as my life’s photo album and which in time began also to show at different solo and group exhibitions, both local and international. For my diary project, I understood that the subjects which interest me the most are individuals and the way they change according to their group or surroundings. This intimate diary project reflects the lives of both the people I meet and the changes I am going through in the time frame of the project. The subjects in this body of work are composed of objects, animals, landscapes, light, shape and form which all contain the presence of human culture. A main part of the project is creating an archive of portraits; groups of strangers and individuals I’m not familiar with, people in my social circle who got close to me through time, and friends or family which I have known all of my life. Through the photographs, they become a representation of a point in time and culture.
Contemporary culture agrees that choices are a dominant factor in defining an individual. We are what we choose, and what we choose can speak volumes about who we are.
