Description
This documentary photobook depicts the 'Seamus Heaney's country' of south County Londonderry. Thoroughly researched and beautifully executed it focuses on places related to the poet's childhood e.g. his birthplace at the Mossbawn farm, the Moyola River and the surrounding fields, his family's house near Bellaghy where they moved after a tragic death of the poet's brother on the Hillhead Road (in a road accident).
The book demonstrates how the landscape of Seamus Heaney's childhood informed his verse - how his language and poetic imagery were influenced by physical and political boundaries of the land he inhabited.
