Description

During the Covid 19 lockdowns, London's climbing community found itself stranded.
For many people, climbing is a way of life, a culture, a religion, an escape, a way to vent or shut off for a while. Losing this during such a testing time was terrible.
The boulder on Mabley Green, installed by John Frankland in 2008 as a sculpture and site for climbing, became a beacon for those people, myself included.
It brought us together, introduced us to others, gave us somewhere to escape to and forget about the world that, at times, felt like it was falling apart around us.

This book is a visual document of that period of the London climbing community, and also tells my story of becoming part of it
