<text>Unseen is a collectable zine written and published periodically by photographer and writer Rachel Poulton. It is a photographic ode to nature (with some poems and essays thrown in) and a celebration of the of act of solitary walking.
Unseen is a mix of black and white analogue and digital images alongside words inspired by the wanderings of Romantic painters, philosophers and poets and the psychogeographical derive of the situationists; they walked in urban environments but I am applying the same sensory experiences to rural drifts. Each issue charts a mapless walk in places of special spiritual interest around the UK such as - the haunted and haunting ancient forest of Kingley Vale, The Longman of Wilmington and the notoriously spirited hilltop fort, Chanctonbury Ring.
Each walk is a sensory experience taking in the historical, topographical and psycho-spiritual ambiences; the unseen appears as essential as that which is seen.
