Description

f you’ve ever been to Manchester City Centre, then you may have noticed a large grey wall gracing Piccadilly Gardens. It’s not very popular among us Mancunians, or, I suspect, anyone who has ever seen it. As a photographer, I’ve found myself drawn to ’the wall’ for years. Not just for its oppressive qualities, but as an urban canvas, a backdrop to daily life. The wall puts every passerby on the same stage for a minute or so, whether they like it or not.
