<text>LET’S TALK ABOUT RAPE is a collaborative documentary photography project rooted in therapeutic photography, photography as activism, and survivor-led self-portraiture.

Created by Jadwiga Brontē in collaboration with 20 survivors of sexual violence from around the world, the book brings together powerful self-portraits and personal testimonies in 11 languages.

At the heart of the project is photography as a therapeutic and empowering process. Each survivor holds the remote shutter release, choosing the exact moment their portrait is taken. This simple but significant act shifts control and authorship back to the survivor, allowing them to reclaim their image, identity and narrative.

Photography becomes both a tool for personal empowerment and a form of visual activism, challenging the silence, shame, stigma and victim-blaming surrounding sexual violence.

Rather than portraying survivors through victimhood, the project presents them through dignity, strength and agency. Together, their portraits and testimonies form a collective act of resistance, challenging how society sees, understands and responds to sexual violence.

The book includes an essay by Alessia Glaviano and supports the ongoing work of Let’s Talk About Rape®, a UK-registered charity dedicated to survivor empowerment, education and challenging the stigma surrounding sexual violence.</text>
