Poetic

Description

The photobook collects a series of sceneries exclusively black and white photographs taken throughout the years, all shot on film with a Holga 120. Each photo paired up a page written in poetical prose, that altogether form a whole novel. (27 photos matching 27 pages of novel). To underline the expressive power of analog photography, each written page is graphically textured, marked and bruised as the film the photographer shot his pictures on.

The concept underneath it is simple: influenced by the work of photographer James Nachtway, by the literary works of E.A.Poe and by his own experience of living in a country that has and is still going through much ordeals, in this book the author takes the reader with him throughout the journey of a raven, only living thing, an omnipresent and omniscient symbol: a silent witness that documents the utter loneliness of a world deprived of its humanity.
