Description

Record is Stefan Dotter’s first monograph, documenting natural habitats and indigenous communities in the Amazon, Borneo and Madagascar. From 2021, he undertook a three-year journey to explore the relationship between humans and nature, photographing remote regions while working closely with the non-profit Health In Harmony. Designed by Jonny Lu Studio, the book draws from natural science documents and field journals, pairing Dotter’s prints with essays, reflections and notes.

Themes of transparency, time and interconnectedness shape the book’s tactile form: instead of a hardcover, delicate semi-transparent papers wrap the artwork plates, echoing the fragile layers that protect our environment. A special edition of 100 copies includes a custom box and a hand-printed chromogenic print.

All profits support Health In Harmony, and the project was made possible through a grant from Future Being.
