<text>How does a living being become a victim? When did we become so detached from life that we built systems around it to decide who is worthy of living? What happens when we are not worthy? Who is it that selects, categorises, decides – and who empowered them? Sacrifice was originally a sacred act; today we make sacrifices, we become victims on the altar of power, political ideologies and scientific progress instead of gods. Which body becomes a tool, a sacrifice, and which remains protected? What happens when we no longer defend life, but the system? Who is to say what is life and what is not? “Man is the cruellest animal.” – writes Nietzsche. But is it really the animal that is cruel or is it man who can build a system around cruelty?

In my work, I examine these questions. I am interested in the boundary between art and science, with a particular focus on microscopes as alternative image-making tools. The book presents images of cross-sections of animal organs and tissues, as well as phase photographs of apoptosis (artificially induced cell death) in the HeLa cell line, rendered in abstracted and distorted forms. I investigate the mechanisms of victimization and the exercise of power, which appear in the book through animals, while aiming to draw parallels with similar processes operating within human society.</text>

<text>My two years as a steward at the pitch gate of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium unfolded against the backdrop of some of the club’s most turbulent recent seasons. From the same gate each matchday, I watched Tottenham finish 17th in two consecutive seasons, narrowly escaping relegation on the final game in 2026. Amid the turmoil came an unforgettable moment: the long-awaited silverware — the Europa League trophy — followed by a pitch invasion and scenes of unrestrained celebration. What may appear to be an ordinary role offered me an uncommon perspective on football — not merely as a sport, but as a living tradition shaped by loyalty, memory, and hope.</text>

<text>This move, immigration from the country due to political reasons, prompts a deeper examination of the cruel individual and collective past. Taking into account the changed circumstances of place and time, it inevitably aligns with the attempts to adapt to a new social order and integrate into the new space. Using various methods and practices of the medium, such as reenactment and a near documentary approach, this new series reveals global concerns about complicated histories, political regimes and personal traumas.

Documentary-based, the project depicts people of my generation, mostly artists and activists, gathering and fooling around UK streets and spaces, reflecting on their struggles in a period of involuntary migration. These newcomers are faced with social and financial vulnerabilities and vague career aspirations. Photographs, inspired by people's surroundings and duties, serve here not just as a document of modernity, but also as an alternative imaginative story linked with the long-term consequences of the war conflict.</text>

<text>This book is like a journey through the modern architecture of the 20th century and, at the same time, an aesthetic and conceptual reflection on photographic vision. Paolo Rosselli, one of the leading exponents of landscape photography in Italy since the early 1980s, has assembled in this volume the traces of a multi-form, antagonistic, problematic itinerary through some of the icons of the Modern Movement and an overview of the more advanced international contemporary architecture. The works of Aldo Rossi, Luigi Moretti, Le Corbusier, Rafael Moneo, Frank O Gehry, Santiago Caltrava, Frank Lloyd Wright, Herzog & De Meuron, Rem Koolhaas and others become an opportunity to reflect through photography on Modern spatiality in relation to the city, its profile, and its interior landscape.

A difficult, often conflictual relationship exists between everyday life, the life of the man-on-the-street and Modern works. Problematically recounted through these images, this long visual reflection seeks to disrupt the fixed mind-set with which we have always looked at these 20th-century masterpieces.

The volume follows a dual track, represented by the written commentary of Dennis Sharp and of the author, which intersects with the dense sequence of images mounted in an arrangement that constantly moves on and around the theme of architecture lost in the architecture lost in the contemporary metropolis.

The photographs cover the time span of the past twenty years, from Paolo Rosselli's early Indian travels exploring Chandigarh up to his most recent architectural inquiries, revealing a gradual evolution in his photographic vision, and, more generally, the problematic course of contemporary photography.</text>
