<text>Objects come into being with an intended purpose; a reason to exist. This ‘stuff’ then sloshes around the everyday, like detritus: sometimes being useful (as intended); sometimes just being stuff. The area outside these two states is like a transformation, when an object or an environment can be seen as a separate entity from its particular function. In BEINGS, objects and environments are what they appear to be; a cheese pot, a ladder, a piece of laminate flooring, a road. However, they are also constituent parts of a larger whole, like the matter from which they are themselves made. Where these object-particles collide they create something new that is without a particular purpose, but which takes on a new sculptural form. In this context of remixing the everyday, some subjects instead sit as-found. Sitting in the glow of their reconfigured counterparts, they are somehow altered by association. They have a sculptural potential radiating beyond their use-function.

Unknown beings have made and designed all this stuff, and others have left it in the world for me to find. Some have done strange things with it, perhaps because of boredom or to resist the everyday routine. I have reciprocated, and done strange things also. Whoever is ultimately responsible, these photographs are representative of human endeavour, both purposeful and playful. As I’ve said before, it’s all just stuff.

The ones who think they know it are deluded. The closer you get, the most arrogant assumptions fade away.
The doubts rise and the questions you are asking yourself are the only answers you will find.

Does it make sense to take yourself seriously? Does it make sense to take life seriously?

Or doesn’t it make more sense to play it like a stupid but meaningful childish game? Everyone is just playing their own game.

Reality is overrated. Reality is colorblind. Reality is obnoxious.
Reality is overrated. Reality is colorblind. Reality is obnoxious.

There is not just one reality but as many as we are.
We all act on our own fictions of reality.

Fictions of power, seduction, money, fame,
knowledge, creativity and rebellion.

When the game is over, probably only the ones who understood that it was simply a game with no winners or losers will be happy.
Happy to have played by their own rules.

Raw and Rare chart the time that L.A.D. spent in Berlin which he has compiled into a narrative that illustrates his journey as a photographer indulging in the excess and the subsequent repercussions of a self-indulgent lifestyle.
After a short period of isolation, the photographer finds solace in his craft and uses his camera as a catalyst to reintegrate into social life and, subsequently, resulting in some fame and recognition for him and his art.
Again though, the photographer becomes involved in a world of decadence and overindulgence, though seemingly making a sincere connection that offers the novel a romance element.
This does not turn out to be the case though, a relationship ending coincides with a recognition that one inauthenticity has been replaced by another and that the photographer covets, not success, but enlightenment.
With this in mind, he reconciles himself to himself as an artist creating art for the sake of art and this revelation is the promise of self-affirmation, metaphysical interconnectivity between form and function, content and creation that transforms the world into a sequence of images and a manifesto for his art.</text>

With this in mind, he reconciles himself to himself as an artist creating art for the sake of art and this revelation is the promise of self-affirmation, metaphysical interconnectivity between form and function, content and creation that transforms the world into a sequence of images and a manifesto for his art.

<text>Bare With Me is fashion photographer Begum Yetis’s first solo show in London. Teaming up with London-based stylist Matt King comes a series of images exploring the state of undress, with an emphasis on contemporary concepts of erotica today. The images showcased at Doomed Gallery in Aug 2018 and Istanbul in November that year.

A collection of images from the exhibition came together in to a zine in early 2019, inspired by the style of sex punk posters and provocative band images with a strong focus on the celebration of the human figure and diversity.

Whether its provoking images of body parts cramped in tight clothing, or just being butt naked, they come together and celebrate the human figure in a playful approach through the use of various undergarments.</text>

She currently lives and works in London. Having been working in the fashion industry, her personal projects develop around the representations of identity and sexuality.

This is her first self-published zine titled It’s Me Billie, documenting the world around her since making her move to London in 2016. This zine explores the idea of photography as memory. Through the practice of photography, she makes her memories of a specific time exist, believing that if you shoot constantly it forms a line which represents your life. By introducing herself as Billie in the title, the photographer is reconstructing herself in these new experiences since moving to London.

Thompson's ”gonzo journalism”, Japanese photographers and the lomographic movement, I started to document the city I live in using toy cameras, pinholes and low cost cameras. In order to convey my emotions and preserve my memories, I embrace visual imperfection, the soft focus, film grain, and d.i.y. attitude. I call this ”lomojournalism”.
