This ‘stuff’ then sloshes around the everyday, like detritus: sometimes being useful (as intended); sometimes just being stuff. The area outside these two states is like a transformation, when an object or an environment can be seen as a separate entity from its particular function. In BEINGS, objects and environments are what they appear to be; a cheese pot, a ladder, a piece of laminate flooring, a road. However, they are also constituent parts of a larger whole, like the matter from which they are themselves made. Where these object-particles collide they create something new that is without a particular purpose, but which takes on a new sculptural form. In this context of remixing the everyday, some subjects instead sit as-found. Sitting in the glow of their reconfigured counterparts, they are somehow altered by association. They have a sculptural potential radiating beyond their use-function. Unknown beings have made and designed all this stuff, and others have left it in the world for me to find. Some have done strange things with it, perhaps because of boredom or to resist the everyday routine. I have reciprocated, and done strange things also. Title A name given to the resource Bare With Me Description An account of the resource Bare With Me is fashion photographer Begum Yetis’s first solo show in London. Teaming up with London-based stylist Matt King comes a series of images exploring the state of undress, with an emphasis on contemporary concepts of erotica today. The images showcased at Doomed Gallery in Aug 2018 and Istanbul in November that year. A collection of images from the exhibition came together in to a zine in early 2019, inspired by the style of sex punk posters and provocative band images with a strong focus on the celebration of the human figure and diversity. Whether its provoking images of body parts cramped in tight clothing, or just being butt naked, they come together and celebrate the human figure in a playful approach through the use of various undergarments. She currently lives and works in London. Having been working in the fashion industry, her personal projects develop around the representations of identity and sexuality. This is her first self-published zine titled It’s Me Billie, documenting the world around her since making her move to London in 2016. This zine explores the idea of photography as memory. Through the practice of photography, she makes her memories of a specific time exist, believing that if you shoot constantly it forms a line which represents your life.
