<text>Selected Works 21/25 by Joshua Hart is a retrospective journey through the past five years, this curated collection of photographs explores themes of connection, objectivity and ownership. The work reflects on photography’s ability to help us process experience, create meaning, and reshape our understanding of ourselves.

Our minds are like houses—big or small, modern or old, terraced or sprawling. When the rooms become cluttered, it can be difficult to move freely through them. Photography
offers a way to pause, observe, and organise what we carry with us - to renovate. By creating space for reflection, these images encourage a greater sense of ownership over lived experience, whether shaped by joy, loss, trauma, or growth. Through the act of looking, photography becomes not only a record of the world around us, but a means of understanding the world within.</text>

<text>Like for so many others, the nationwide lockdown of March 2020 marked a challenging transitional period for Joshua J Sneade. His life and career were put on hold and for the first time in more than five years, he returned home to the county of Shropshire. Although initially feeling like a backwards step, the move allowed Joshua an opportunity to reconnect with the landscape of his youth. Spurred on by the restlessness of months indoors and inspired by the bucolic poetry of A.E. Housman’s A Shropshire Lad, Joshua set out to discover the beauty that the county had to offer.

Long walks became a daily occurrence and the rising temperatures of spring, combined with Houseman’s many references to water, led Joshua to discover a passion for wild swimming. As spring gave way to summer, and as lockdown started to ease, Joshua welcomed the chance to rekindle old friendships, too long neglected amongst the rigours of modern life. Together, he and a group of friends recaptured the spirit of a carefree youth as they uncovered the riches of the local landscape and the meditative properties of the region’s hidden waters.

On the Idle Hill of Summer is a documentation of those paradoxically halcyon days in the summer of Covid-19. Days spent in the pursuit of something that, just for a little while, could distract from the uncertain future of a world in turmoil. It is a celebration of the equanimity found amongst the unchanging stillness of the Shropshire Hills and in the cold embrace of rivers, lakes and quarries. Most of all, it is, in retrospect, a reminder to savour the smaller moments: the anticipation of poring over maps, tracing lines of blue ink; the satisfaction of the weary silence on the journey home; and the exasperation of the days spent looking out of the window, waiting for the rains to pass, promising to never again under appreciate the beauty of a sunset.</text>

<text>Juanita Richards - She Surfs, She Rides

Juanita Richards’ process is to follow the natural rhythms of human beats. She’s found that in orchestrating the most riveting symphony one has to create a strong foundation and let intuition inform the rest.

People will surprise you, especially those given the proper tools. And so her approach to directing is to arm her subjects with a carefully constructed balance of information while offering a warm, creative atmosphere that’s ripe for making art. Her sets are high-energy, fast-paced environments where ideas flow freely, yet they’re grounded in structure and collaboration. The tiniest nudge here and there can be the key in uncovering a truly magical moment that makes a story.

Always searching, she is drawn to pure, unguarded moments that push forward truth and investigate the complexity of emotions. This ethos has taken Juanita across the globe, which has given her access to a richly diverse pool of talent as well as a keen eye for finding individuals whose unique essence elevates every project.

For Juanita, making art is about building something real from the ground up. Her conceptual worlds are all rooted in authenticity, the superficiality of micro-trends don’t interest her. It’s this artistic sensibility—one that prioritises truth and emotional depth—that makes her work resonate so deeply.</text>
