<text>When you think of Iceland, you might picture gigantic waterfalls, endless glaciers, or fiery volcanoes. But the true magic of this land reveals itself slowly — in its quiet moments, its vast landscapes, and in the people who have learned to live side by side with its raw forces. This photobook invites you on a journey across Iceland, where powerful landscapes meet those who call them home. Through personal stories and breathtaking images of nature, Iceland: Living with the elements reveals a deep, human connection to nature’s fierce beauty — a reminder to living not against the elements, but with them.</text>

<text>Waterways: Journeys around the South Pennine Ring
The South Pennine Ring is a network of canals which intersect the counties of Lancashire and
Yorkshire. Built in the industrial era of the 18th century, this network of artificial waterways has
evolved from vital trade and transportation routes into quasi-heritage sites, a complex mix of
pastoral landscapes, industrial relics and utilitarian architecture for the growing post-industrial
economy.

For five years I navigated the seventy-mile arterial walking routes along the ring’s Rochdale,
Ashton, Huddersfield canals and Calder & Hebble Navigation. The dialogue between walking
and making photographs began by following a line on a map. Over time this gradually developed
into a cyclic journey, re-imagining landscape as a form of palimpsest. Following this sprawling
network of waterways, the past and present overlap, converge and industrial legacies become
superimposed on the surface of a post-industrial landscape.</text>

<text>JAMAIKA follows part of the story of Bairro da Jamaica - a community in Seixal, Portugal, made up of around 700 inhabitants, often racialised and marginalised -, in its fight for the right to decent housing.

This documentary work, developed over three years, portrays the life of this community made up of immigrants from former Portuguese colonies - Angola, Guinea-Bissau and São Tomé and Príncipe - and Portuguese people of African descent.

Between 2022 and 2023, around 98% of the Jamaica neighborhood was demolished. The families that lived there were relocated to decent housing, but their community prevails beyond Vale de Chicaros the place that has been home to so many since the mid-1980s. The book not only captures life in the neighborhood; the relocation of some families as well as the demolition of buildings.

JAMAIKA aims to act as an intimate visual memory of Bairro da Jamaica, also representing many other racialized communities and others living in similar housing conditions in the metropolitan area of Lisbon and Porto. Many of these families continue to suffer daily stigmatization based on their ethnicity, marginalization by city councils and harassment by the police.</text>

Other standout features explore the revival of the Irish language, a new wave of Northern Irish creatives, guerrilla gardening and a surreal portrait of Belfast’s own Elvis impersonator, among others.
