<text>A book about weather worn posters, composed of more than 100 selected pictures taken in the last ten years in London and other cities in Europe and Asia.
Posters, and in particular, advertising posters, are all around us, they have a single and well defined scope: to convey a message for a short amount of time. Then they’re left, exposed to the elements, useless, until they are removed or replaced. The artistic reaction to that is the capacity to find beauty in the spontaneous artistic value the torn posters gain, making the city a free and immense open-air museum.
Second life is about the beauty the torn posters gain just before disappearing, like the agave plant that produces only one flower just before its death.</text>

<text>In 2020, Janko Bosch started a new photo project in his new photo studio. In this project, he explored his love for fetish and women's clothing without making obvious fetish pictures. For this project, he worked in B&W and included conceptual ideas in the images about the difficult times in which these pictures were made, adding a deeper personal level to the pictures. In other cases, the pictures focus more on confident, powerful portraits of women embracing their sensuality. The two form an intriguing combination, resulting in this limited edition book.</text>

In the author’s words: “For as long as I can remember the bizarre has always found a way to ruin my day. I like to think of it as my very bohemian curse. Most days I don’t even need to look hard to catch glimpses of absurdity around me. They are literally everywhere. When Stories landed on Instagram, I took it as as an opportunity to document my anathema. 2,349 photos later, I have to admit it got a bit out of hand. This book is the result of me with an iPhone in my hand reacting to whatever absurdity is in front of me.”</text>

<text>‘United Kingdom’ depicts my experience of London at the end of the second Elizabethan era.

When HM Queen Elizabeth II passed away on 8 September 2022, I felt compelled to head out onto the streets of London, to join the crowds gathered around London’s landmarks watching live streams on their phones, and to walk the length of The Queue. The saturation of the media and public spaces with royal imagery got to me. I did not plan to produce this series; it simply felt wrong to watch history unfold from my sofa at home.

These photographs do not purport to tell the story of the Queen’s funeral or the King’s accession. Eschewing direct examination of royal ceremony and celebrity, this series is a montage of observations around the fray of this very British occasion.</text>

<text>It was a hot, humid summer in the American South as perhaps what would be the last grassroots U.S. presidential campaign began in earnest. The national press corps had descended on tiny Plains, Georgia to witness a little-known southern governor who had broken through the field of Democratic contenders and had won his party’s nomination for president. The governor was Jimmy Carter and photojournalist Ken Hawkins was there capturing his ascent to the presidency. Many of the moments captured – both public and private – have never been published – until now.

Hawkins book Jimmy Carter – Photographs 1970 – 2010 opens with a foreword by Carter White House Deputy Press Secretary Rex Granum that precedes one hundred twenty five tritone photographs and an afterword by the photographer.
Profits from the sale of the book are donated to the Carter Center's global humanitarian outreach.

I tried to convey what Malta was and still is in part before skyscrapers and consumerism completely took over the island. This project encloses curiosities and historical notions of such a small place that it is almost incredible to believe the amount of history it can hide. The fanzine is shot entirely on 35mm, with expired and unexpired rolls of film, to try to convey the sensations and reconstruct in the reader's imagination the life of the past in this beautiful place.</text>

<text>Masculinity is something trained into the body. It effects its movements right down to the tip of each finger. The very same part that clicks the shutter on the camera…

Through photographing his own hands as well as the hands of friends and family, Toby Lamborn’s book, ‘To Outrun the Sun’, aims to create a platform to critically analyse the effects and everyday behaviours of masculinity. To gain context into present masculinities he draws on comparisons to its past forms by sequencing his own images alongside vernacular photographs of celebrity headshots. The subtle grandeur within the headshots reflect the ideals of previous times and it is these elements within the photos that are used compare to the present representations Toby Lamborn captures himself. Through the use of form, the sequencing drifts from these vernacular photographs, pictures of hands, to street scenes. Through this, he places himself in the middle of the critique. By displaying these urban scenes in the context of critiquing masculinity, it offers the reader to analyse whether masculinity effects how the photographer captures the environment around him. Overall the book uses different pockets of comparison to critique the subtle effects of masculinity and its influence. Whether it is through the movements of fingers, its marks on the flesh or the work the body produces.</text>
