<text>"Cherry Blossom, Don’t Cry" for me is a testimony to a paradigm shift.

In 2023, I traveled to Japan for work. I was in a dark place at the time, feeling lost, dealing with the challenges of aging, hurting in love, and unconsciously drifting away from my most personal photography. I had started focusing only on commercial work, chasing projects that didn’t fulfill me, as if I had forgotten what truly moved me.

And then the flowers came.
I believe they helped me. The cherry blossoms, with their quiet beauty, reminded me to return to myself and to what I love doing: to create again, from a sincere and vulnerable place.

A year later, when I was going through the images, I could feel both the sadness I had carried and the light I brought back. I realized all those feelings had been photographed without me even knowing it.

I feel the book takes you on that same path, moving from darkness to light.
The title "Cherry Blossom, Don’t Cry" was a quiet reminder I kept repeating to myself, a way to cheer myself up during those days.</text>

<text>La Romería is a documentary project of one of the Canary Islands’ most popular celebrations, where people parade in traditional costumes to the rhythm of music while singing, dancing, and sharing food. It is a celebration of heritage and appreciation of Canarian roots.

Shot on film, the zine tells the story of the day in chronological order, transmitting the atmosphere and collective spirit of the event. It is both a work of cultural dissemination, presenting the Canary Islands as a place of rich traditions, and a personal exploration of identity and nostalgia by the author.</text>

Kizamu Presents – Takumi of Japan: Origins (Vol. 1) (KZMU002) is the second release from Kizamu, following Shunkan of Japan (KZMU001).

Where Shunkan captured fleeting moments across Japan, Takumi: Origins narrows the lens to the craft of food — from markets and fishing ports to kitchens and street stalls. It’s a quiet study of the hands, tools, and traditions that shape everyday food culture in Japan, offering an unpolished, honest look at the work behind each dish.

Takumi is a Japanese word that translates to "artisan" or "master craftsman" — someone whose skill is honed through time, patience, and dedication. This zine explores that spirit in the world of Japanese food.

Shot over three months across cities, towns, and coastlines, this volume forms the first half of a two-part series exploring Japan’s culinary life — the making (Origins) and the living (Moments).

<text>“Shunkan means ‘a moment’ — a brief point in time that passes quickly, yet stays in memory.”
_________________________________________________________

“Kizamu” (刻む) means to carve, to engrave, to imprint — a word that quietly honours the impermanence of moments and the lingering traces they leave behind.

KIZAMU is a brand first and foremost as well as a photographic project rooted in the quiet poetry of everyday life. Born from three months of travel across Japan, this body of work captures not just what was seen, but what was felt.

Through a series of limited-edition zines — each guided by a Japanese phrase such as Shunkan (moments in time), Takumi (food), Utsuroi (the beauty of transition), and more, — KIZAMU seeks to hold space for the ephemeral.

These zines will explore themes of memory, movement, respect, solitude, loneliness, joy, routine, reflection and more — not through grand narratives, but through the subtle gestures that define a culture, and a life.

Over the coming months, KIZAMU will unfold as a growing archive of photographic fragments — tactile and tangible — printed with care, designed with minimal elegance, and released in small runs.

Each zine will be a meditation on a single idea, while the final book, will bring them together into one distilled expression: a carved memory of a nation in motion.

KIZAMU is not just a collection of images — it’s an invitation to slow down, to observe deeply, and to feel the weight and lightness of a moment before it passes.

<text>The photobook Illusions of Self is an exploratory meditation on the ways in which the self inhabits everyday spaces and things.

In the series, I used my camera and image-making to reflect on the traces of selves embedded in the untouched domesticity of my mother’s home after she died.

The work combines realist images of everyday rooms and possessions, their deterioration and eventual disappearance, with speculative photomontages that combine my own images with archival material. The photomontages reflect on the ways in which fragments of seen, unseen and hidden selves can come to inhabit us, coalescing in momentary and persistent fusions, melancholic speculations and darker agitations.

The photobook includes a number of cutouts within the pages that are intended to create fluidity within the photobook as an object as well as shifting perspectives of the images within.

Underpinning the series is my interest in the ways that image-making can be used to frame, open and narrow meaning-making together with a delight in the materiality and sculptural qualities of the photograph and photobook.

<text>Jimi Herrtage is a visual storyteller drawn to the vibrant, often unseen worlds of subcultures across the globe. With a keen eye that straddles the line between documentary and fine art, his photography captures raw, intimate moments that reveal the spirit and complexity of the communities he immerses himself in.

Fueled by a deep love for travel and genuine human connection, Jimi’s work explores the dynamic intersection of culture, identity, and place. Whether shooting candid street scenes, underground music scenes, or quiet moments of ritual, he seeks to present his subjects with honesty, respect, and an artistic sensibility that invites viewers to look beyond the surface.

<text>Undercurrent Magazine is an independent culture publication that dives deep into the heart of underground scenes and subcultures around the world.
It blends documentary storytelling with artistic exploration, showcasing authentic moments captured across music, art, skateboarding, surfing, nightlife, and everyday rituals.

Rooted in a love for travel and human connection, Undercurrent explores the unseen and unheard stories of communities that thrive outside the mainstream. The magazine serves as a platform for photographers, artists, and creatives who blur the lines between documentary truth and artistic expression, offering an intimate, raw glimpse into diverse cultures and lifestyles.

Through his lens, everyday scenes become stories—where the real and the poetic coexist, offering a fresh perspective on the people and places that often go unnoticed.</text>
