Each of the nine tipped-in glossy photographs is accompanied by detailed technical descriptions of each veil and by one word taken from this sentence: '... that this woman may be loving and amiable, faithful and obedient to her husband; and in all quietness, sobriety, and peace, be a follower of holy and godly matrons' (from The Form of Solemnization of Matrimony in The Book of Common Prayer). This is the form of wedding service used when Cally was a bridesmaid at the weddings of her older cousin and sister-in-law. The book was produced as part of the AMBruno 'Cover' collection.</text>

                <text>The Humberston Fitties In Summer.

The plotland movement developed at the turn of the 20th century and gained pace in the interwar years as people escaped the cramped and dirty towns and cities of Britain for their own piece of paradise in the countryside or by the coast. These pieces of land were on the margins, hilly landscapes or fields thick with clay that were unprofitable to farm but could be rented out as plots where disused railways carriages could be placed or timber chalets could be constructed, adapted and used as a place of escape.

A change in planning laws in 1948 slowly brought the end of many of these plotlands through demolition, conversion to static caravan holiday parks or as they became permanent residences. A few still survive though, dotted around the country.

One of those precarious survivors is the Humberston Fitties, named after the local word for salt marsh, in North East Lincolnshire. This selection of photographs, taken between 2011 & 2021, is the second in a long term series and shows the Fitties as spring stumbles into summer, full of colour.</text>

<text>Sisters of the Road documents the remarkable lives of forty female American truckers.

In this collection of experiences, personal stories told in the subjects’ own words are set alongside arresting portraiture and images of the vast and ever-changing landscape they traverse.

Michel’s portraits slot her subjects into the unsung history of female migration across the States. From the Pioneer women of the mid-nineteenth century, crossing the country in search of a better future, to Michel’s own individual subjects, Sisters of the Road highlights the female American traveller as both a historical and continued presence.

Each of Michel’s subjects has her own story, her own reason to keep moving. But together, they tell a story of sisterhood. Sisters of the Road tells a story of resilience, of the bravery in starting over, but overall, it tells a story of freedom.</text>

<text>A fictional photographic narrative told from a single found object -a small framed charcoal portrait of a woman ‘Mrs Eyles’ made by another woman Betty Steer in 1962. I found it in a Hackney charity shop and took it back to my artist studio, where it began to resonate.

In the book an accompanying text imagines the act of these two women coming together, one to draw the other to sit. And contemplates ideas of unity, solidarity, the sisterhood and quieter forms of feminist action or resistance.

Part still life, part landscape and part found imagery this series has evolved to form a cryptic story, set within a claustrophobic domestic stage. </text>

<text>BUDDHA WAS BORN HERE is a collection of abstract and documentary photographs from Olgaç Bozalp’s travels throughout Nepal's villages, towns and Himalayas.

This travel diary is an amalgam of Bozalp’s exploration of self through colour, composition and space; distinct from his signature body of work of his meticulously staged settings.

This is Bozalp’s debut self-published zine. This visit marks Olgaç’s first international trip outside of assigned work in recent years. With no real initial intention of photographing the country, Bozalp was precipitously captivated by its people, their spirituality and relationship with nature, compelling him to immerse himself in the experience through his camera lens. Bozalp was profoundly influenced by the abstract of every day, such as a man camouflaged in a large display made of foliage as he transports them back; rather than the intervention of human manipulation; or staging, commonly found in his body of work.

This publication reflects his experience of searching for a higher meaning in the present, our place in the world, and his pursuit of understanding a culture whose people seek truth by looking inward to reflect their happiness

<text>Klara and the Bomb is a photographical and historical work that charts connecting threads between the invention of modern computers, the history of nuclear weapons and, in particular, the narratives of the women involved.

While computing technology is ubiquitous today, its militaristic history and colonial connections continue to be underplayed or obscured: the modern computer originates in military-funded nuclear weapons research and development that took place during and after the Second World War. Many of these weapons were later detonated in the Marshall Islands where indigenous communities were coerced into leaving their homes.

These interconnected stories are told through the little-known life of Klara von Neumann, who came to the United States after marrying the noted mathematician John von Neumann. As one of the first computer programmers, Klara’s story highlights the extent to which women were involved in the development of both computing and nuclear weapons from the 1940s onwards. Klara’s life ended tragically: in 1963, her body was found on the beach not far from her California home. Suicide by drowning, the coroner’s report stated.</text>
