She relies on her own personal experience as a trans woman to connect with strangers in her queer community who are willing to be photographed. This community of queer people endures hardship through authentic and intentional connection to one another, living a life that is inherently an act of resistance, and finding joys in every single day.</text>

<text>Habitat is a series of photographs taken between 2016 and 2020. Marohn captured these photographs of homelessness whilst walking through Central London. During 2016 Marohn became acutely aware of an increase in tents outside London Underground Stations. It was then she decided to document the looming epidemic of homelessness.

Marohn was drawn to the subject by the stark contrast between the misery of homelessness and the wealth of the city. With their meagre belongings, they invariably made a very distinct ‘habitat’ out of their environment even in the most extreme circumstances. They made out of what little they possessed or could find a kind of identifiable ‘home’. It became routinely obvious that many passers-by were oblivious and lacked care due to desensitisation.

The project was approached counter-intuitively. Marohn documented the subject matter by removing all human presence from the frame to avoid an invasion of privacy. This had an effect of heightening a sense of desolation, isolation and destitution. Simultaneously, the eccentric and highly individualised ‘order within disorder’ was brought into sharp relief.

Marohn states: “I was conflicted as I found a certain aesthetic beauty in the arrangement of the material objects in the frame, yet it was difficult witnessing scenes of deprivation in this wretched social condition.”

<text>What freedoms and independence does the disabled concessionary bus pass truly afford people with disabilities? Photographer Dan Bowhay spent 10 Days, 19 hours, 33 minutes, and 15 seconds travelling the length of England, from Land’s End to the Scottish Border near Berwick-upon-Tweed, on local buses and within the restrictions of a disabled bus pass.

Bowhay’s photographs are a subversion of the work of classic road trip photographers, with him photographing primarily from the buses, his means of transportation, and not at the destinations themselves. These photographs differ substantially from the classic images of small English villages and picturesque natural landscapes that we are accustomed to seeing on tours of the country, and instead reflect a more realistic vision of England, seen through the scratches, dirt, and condensation on the windows of an ever-dwindling public transportation network.

The concessionary pass is intended to provide disabled travellers with the same freedom and independence as able-bodied people, but it falls short of this in many ways. Most controversially, the pass can only be used during off-peak times, a heavily criticised policy that “implies disabled people do not hold a place in the world of work, education settings, or in wider social activities, and dismisses their right to equal opportunities” (Whizz Kidz, 2023). With bus services constantly being cut, and with trains and coaches being excluded from the pass, fewer and fewer locations year-on-year actually remain accessible to travellers reliant on the pass.</text>

<text>Brutalist architecture is divisive – its style is appreciated by many and disliked by many. Brutalist high-rise social housing projects were designed with progressive qualities in mind, but fell short of this goal, being known for fostering crime and for their poor design, construction and maintenance. This book will discuss the shortcomings of brutalist high-rise social housing, and how this paved the way for the design and success of the low-rise estate. This discussion is accompanied by infrared photography, which renders nature in a luminous white, allowing the relationship between housing and its environment to be seen – this being a key element to the success of the low-rise estate.</text>

Influenced by 'Provoke' era Japanese photography, 'No Silver Bird' evades inordinate narratives and invites the viewer to engage with the images on their own terms. The book also acts as a celebration of the darkroom and the failures that occur in the process, including solarisations and chemigrams. Printed on silver paper from the original scanned darkroom prints showing the relationship between form and abstraction. </text>

<text>“High Street Happenings” walks you through a series of candid encounters, revealing unrepeated movements of local people in and around the famous historic High Street of Rochester. The photographs, which were made over a 6 month period, between December 2020 and May 2021, give insight to a truly unique and unprecedented time. A time of change and great uncertainty after 9 months into the Covid-19 pandemic, as people began returning to the High Street once again, desperately clinging to some sort of normality. This colourful and characterful photo-book will draw out your interpretations, telling an everchanging story, whilst you take joy in studying the details from each expression, gesture and form. Sit down and slowly observe little pieces of life, in pictures, from the streets of Rochester.</text>

<text>finding a feeling is a 118-page photobook by Dan Gardner that pairs over 50 black and white photographs and curated collages with handwritten essay notes. Through five short sections, the book explores the intuitive act of making photographs and reflects on the art of observation, the responsibility of documenting life, and what it means to “find a feeling”.
The work is personal, reflective, and intentionally tactile, designed to be experienced as a physical object rather than a purely visual portfolio. The handwritten elements bring the reader into the thinking behind the images, making the book feel closer to an artist’s notebook than a conventional photobook. It invites a quieter, more personal response from the reader, encouraging reflection on their own creative habits and ways of seeing.</text>
