For my very first post-pandemic holiday I decided to visit the Orkney, and I was amazed by the beautiful landscapes and the authenticity of their people. While visiting Westray, a small island at the far north of the archipelago, I stumbled upon a carefully dressed scarecrow. And another one. And one more, and so forth.

Little did I know they had been created by families all across the isle with the aim to raise money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. Powered primarily by kind donations, their search and rescue service has been saving lives for nearly 200 years. This is a collection of the sixteen I met on my way while traveling all over the island of Westray. Part of the proceeds of this photo project will be donated to the RNLI.

our street. Around that same time my commercial work virtually stopped. As a result I
was in touch with neighbours I hadn’t spoken to before while at the same time I had time
on my hands.I decided to photograph these neighbours, through their
windows. Two years later, when covid had mostly disappeared I photographed the same
people again. This time, however, I asked if I could take a photo of them in the intimacy
of their house. I then printed the images side by side and asked the sitters to reflect on
those images, using the prints as their canvas. This is the result. </text>

<text>“A Faint Drift of the Universe” explores the beauty of awakening a sense of wonder. It is a visual expression of detaching from the practicalities of life and suddenly seeing everything anew - like a child, mesmerized by the simplest little happenings of the world. The grievances of everyday life are given colour through moments of particular sensitivity and spiritual connection to nature as well as higher energies surrounding us.
This series intends to merge the realism of what is around the corner and the surrealism of being enchanted by those ordinary subjects. The camera acts as a tool for self-reflection which brings further awareness to the fleeting aspect of life and honours even the smallest occurrences of beauty.</text>
