On the contrary, Eric Oliveira blurs the stylistic boundaries, moving with virtuosity through pictorialism, abstraction, chromaticism and experimental photography, to then enter documentary, landscape architecture and even macro photography, refuting the regulatory aspects of the ways in which we usually relate to photographic narratives. Completely disregarding standardized approaches, his photographs claim the function of reimagining a multifaceted city where visual identities compete and permeate every corner and location. The concerns and ambivalences inherent to this journey pave the way for Londoners themselves to relive, observe and feel attentively the city they inhabit. In Fragments, his second authorial book, Eric Oliveira metabolizes all his technique by visually discussing a city that welcomes him and makes him overflow. In this fragmented imagination between the exceptional and the mundane, photography stands out as a powerful form of expression capable of reflecting on history, identity and transience.
