<text>The Problem Horse & Other Stories is a darkly poetic meditation on our relationship to horses and the natural world. It is a search for connection with another species that questions the desires and anxieties that drive this relationship.

Sleaford uses analogue processes in the darkroom, and through interventions with the print, to explore the emotional response of her memory of the horses and landscape she encounters. It features a text-free flow of black & white photographs, including images of horses, the landscape, still life and performative photographs of the artist that contemplate the complexity of our relationship with another animal. The multiple folds-outs within the book accent how much remains hidden from us.

<text>Sunflowers collates seventeen photographs by Gen Kay, taken in her makeshift home studio during what she has coined "the quiet months". Here in this quiet, she intimately observed and documented the natural arc of the sunflower; one moment bold and brilliant, the next reticent and retreating. These photographs invite the viewer to reflect on these iterations and recognise nature's arresting ability to capture human emotion with nuance. Both a visual metaphor of the transformative times we have endured and an ode to the power of a classical still life image, Sunflowers seeks to trace the dynamic melodies that lie within us all. </text>

<text>The body of work and book dummy consists of 40 images of various frozen liquids, resembling icebergs and given the shape and look of an arctic environment. This book acts as a catalogue and compilation of the images I created during the winter of 2018/19. All images are photographed using daylight only.

When I came up with the idea of creating images that resemble icebergs I immediately had some questions in my mind. Will our climate change drastically over the next few decades if we don‘t change our way of living? Will icebergs still be around when my childrens‘ children are born?

I felt I needed to create images feeding this irritation, taking images of frozen water and other natural materials to recreate the look of icebergs. Photorealistic images in small scale resembling monumental icebergs, creating the illusion of an arctic landscape.
Photography has always been a reference point to reality.

This project is a reminder of the fragility of our eco system, especially when looking at the rapid change happening in the polar regions and the development of the global climate.

Coming from a documantary photography background, the environment, the way it shapes us and vice versa, is the main focus of my work.

<text>On The Line is an entry point to events surrounding Canada’s largest mass evacuation of people. In 2016 an out-of-season hellfire upturned an urban service centre situated deep within the world's largest woodland. A complex range of economic, social, political and environmental drivers has influenced the boreal forest's fire regime to a tipping point of collapse. This is occurring in a rapid and profound way from anthropogenic activity, leaving the question, where will we go when we can not inhabit the lands we have since our beginning.</text>

On the Line uses 100% plant based and/or recycled material. To achieve this, we worked closely with G.F. Smith and Park Communications, London. Two leading British companies that place high priority on environmental concerns.

G.F. Smith developed Extract, a pioneering paper taking disposable paper cups destined for landfill and transforming them into beautiful paper.

Park Communicationsis an environmental award winning, EMAS certified company. 100% of the inks used are vegetable oil based, 95% of press chemicals are recycled for further use and, on average 99% of any waste associated with this production will be recycled.</text>
